Since 1997 Christ Church has been successfully running these ten week Alpha courses as a means of helping people ask the basic questions which face us as human beings.  Some 350 people, of all ages and very different backgrounds,  from all kinds of churches and of none, have attended our courses.

These are held in the Old School Building alongside the church and begin with a meal at 7.30 p.m., followed by a video presentation and then discussions in small groups.  No question is deemed out of order and no one is put on the spot.  You can just as easily ask those questions which have always concerned you or simply be quiet and listen to what others have to say.  The evening will always end by 9.30 p.m. 

We generally run two courses a year, one beginning the end of January and the other towards the end of September, usually on a Tuesday or a Wednesday.
