Prayer pointers

Congratulations to Sally Anscombe, daughter of Alan and Carol Thompson, on the arrival of baby James on Friday, weighing 1lb 13 1/2 oz.  Please pray for them both with James being 14 weeks early.

If you give cash in the offering, please consider using one of the blue envelopes at the back of church for one-off gifts.  It simply means that we can probably increase your offering by 28% through Gift Aid.  Please write your name – otherwise we cannot claim a tax refund. If you use these regularly, it would probably be easier to belong to the envelope scheme.  Contact Jen Ray.

If you are considering supporting Christ Church through planned financial giving, you can contact Stuart Jackson (571085) or Kath McMinn (573136) in strict confidence.

World Mission Evensong at the Cathedral this afternoon at 3.00 p.m. is to celebrate the visit of international bishops attending the Lambeth conference.

This is the pre-Lambeth Evensong  which will be attended by visiting Bishops.  It would be good to support Bishop James for this occasion, which I’m sure will be of interest to many.

DVD Ministry

Our 10.45 services are recorded and made available on DVD’s for the use of church members, especially those who are ill or infirm.   You can also view these on our church website – www.ChristChurchAughton.org and follow the link.

See the sound desk if you would want a DVD for your personal use.  We also can provide special envelopes for mailing.

Apprentice programme

The PCC has decided to employ an apprentice for one year, under the auspices of the 9.38  - a national evangelical interdenominational body.  This allows a young person to experience ministry from the inside and so decide whether to train for a lifetime in paid gospel ministry.  This will be funded by a special gift and grants;  it will not be paid for by the PCC.  We are hoping to have someone in place for September.

The NSPCC Big Bike Ride takes place this Tuesday, 15 July, 7.00 – 8.30 p.m in the Old School Building yard.  Refreshments served
